Adopted at a young age by a pair of Sharlayan researchers prior to the mass exodus, Thistle grew up with loving and supportive parents. With only an engraved pendant on his person as a young child as he wandered to the edge of the Dravanian colony and no memory of his missing parents, the researchers took him in with no hesitation. They fed him, clothed him and raised him with all the love they could muster, all of which Thistle is eternally grateful for.He is unaware of his origins but surprisingly, doesn't seem too bothered by it. Instead, he focuses on the future and on where he could make a difference in the world, no matter how small.Now a graduate of the Studium in Old Sharlayan, Thistle is one of many researchers that was to work within Labryinthos. Not wishing to follow entirely in his parents footsteps however, Thistle found himself deciding to depart Old Sharlayan in order to research aether and how it interacts with beings, the landscape and many other means. His side projects on his travels seems to dabble in botany, alchemy and other similar topics as he goes about his main topic of research. His travels, unfortunately tend to make the poor scholar end up in sticky situations fairly often. Still, it doesn't stop him from continuing forward!
